πŸ“–Scriptures that changed my Soul πŸ“–

When I type that one wordβ€”Scripturesβ€”I find myself exhaling deeply.

Where would I be without God's Word?

Without the countless mornings spent reading, learning, questioning, and allowing Him to speak into my brokenness?

The honest answer is this:

I don't believe I would be here today.

I accepted Christ in 1990, but if I'm honest, God's Word didn't truly come alive for me until 2016.

That was the year despair wrapped itself around me like a steel curtain that wouldn't let me breathe.

My divorce shattered me in ways I never imagined. More than anything, it crushed me because I believed it was all my fault. After twenty-five years together, I ran. I gave up. I became a shell of the woman God created me to be.

I walked with my head down.

I avoided eye contact.

The thought of walking into a restaurant alone was terrifying.

I built walls around the broken pieces of my heart and let no one inside.

Then one day, I opened my Bible to John 5:1–9.

I wasn't simply reading a story anymore.

It was as though I was standing there, watching it unfold before my eyes.

Jesus looked at the man who had suffered for so many years and asked a question that pierced straight through my own heart:

"Do you want to be well?"

Those five words changed my life.

I realized that while I couldn't change my past, I could choose whether I would remain lying beside the pool of my pain or stand up and begin walking toward healing.

From that day forward, Scripture became different.

It wasn't just words on a page.

It became my lifeline.

I invited the Holy Spirit to teach me, guide me, correct me, convict me, comfort me, and love me through God's Word. Passage after passage began speaking directly into places I had kept hidden for years. What once felt confusing became clear. What once felt hopeless became filled with promise.

Since that day in 2016, I've developed a hunger for Scripture that I cannot explain. The more I learn, the more I realize how much there is to discover. God's Word has become the place I return to when I need wisdom, peace, perspective, correction, or simply the reminder that I am never alone.

This page is a collection of the passages that have carried me through some of life's darkest valleys and reminded me, time and time again, that God is faithful.

My prayer is that they become a source of hope for you, too.
