Music - Melodies of my heart πΆ
Music has always been woven into the fabric of my life.
Both of my parents were gifted musicians with voices that could fill a room and stir a heart. My father was a beautiful tenor with an extraordinary ear for music. He could hear a song once, sit down at the piano, and begin playing it almost immediately. I still remember watching him and one of his closest friends hear A Bridge Over Troubled Water, work out the melody together in less than thirty minutes, and then begin singing it as if they had known it for years.
My mother's gift was just as remarkable. She began taking voice lessons before she was twelve years old and possessed the kind of true soprano voice that could reach breathtaking notes most people never experience. Listening to her sing was unforgettable.
Our home was rarely quiet. Records were always spinning, and weekends often meant my parents singing along to the music they loved. Looking back, I realize those moments were giving me something far greater than an appreciation for beautiful songs. They were teaching me that music has the power to comfort us, inspire us, help us grieve, celebrate life's joys, and remind us that we are never truly alone.
I believe that's where my own love for music began.
Even today, a single song can transport me back to childhood, bring peace to an anxious heart, or give words to emotions I can't quite express. Music has been one of God's sweetest gifts throughout my lifeβa source of hope, healing, and joy in every season.
Here you'll find some of the songs, artists, and playlists that have encouraged me over the years. My hope is that they might do the same for you.
